ISO/IEC 13874:2003标准还定义了路径替换请求消息的格式和信令流程。路径替换请求消息包括以下字段：

1. 源节点标识符：发起路径替换请求的节点的标识符；
2. 目标节点标识符：接受路径替换请求的节点的标识符；
3. 原始路径标识符：需要替换的原始路径的标识符；
4. 新路径标识符：新建立的路径的标识符；
5. 路径替换原因：触发路径替换请求的原因。

路径替换请求消息的信令流程如下：

1. 源节点向目标节点发送路径替换请求消息；
2. 目标节点接收到请求消息，并根据原始路径标识符查找原始路径；
3. 如果原始路径存在且可替换，则目标节点向源节点发送路径替换确认消息，并建立新的路径；
4. 如果原始路径不存在或不可替换，则目标节点向源节点发送路径替换拒绝消息。

ISO/IEC 13874:2003标准的路径替换功能可以提高PISN的可靠性和灵活性，使得PISN可以更好地满足企业或组织的通信需求。
